| In mid September The Kirklees Light Railway at Clayton west near Huddersfield, held a battle of the Atlantics gala, there were 5 visiting Atlantics, Sutton Belle, Sutton Flyer, Synolda, Joan and Red dragon/Prince of Wales. Suprise guest loco was SMR Railcar Dudley. The KLR is usually run by large narrow gauge loco's due to the steep incline along the lines 3.5 mile length, these can also be seen in the pictures and were also running at the gala. It was interesting how well the small Atlantics compared on the line compared to the usual large locos. |
